EMC SMI-S Agent (ECOM)

Description

This connector discovers the enclosure and the disks of supported SAN disk arrays, as well as the storage pools and storage volumes. It also discovers and monitors the FC ports of the array and various environment sensors when available (temperatures, fans, power supplies, etc.). It relies on the WBEM technology and supports SMI-S compliant disk arrays only.

Connector Activation Criteria

The EMC SMI-S Agent (ECOM) connector will be automatically activated, and its status will be reported as OK if all the below criteria are met:

  • Query: SELECT Name,Dedicated FROM EMC_StorageSystem
• The WBEM query below succeeds:
  • Namespace: root/emc
  • Query: SELECT DeviceID FROM EMC_DiskDrive
